There’s quite a bit of gunk on this cork, but dark fruit and raisins on the nose combined with smooth tannins and pleasantly balanced acidity make this a very nice sipping #wine on this frigid night. #dreamingofsonoma #winesofinstagram

Apparently the only bottles I’ve opened so far in 2023 are black and white labels! Fortunately, the wine inside opened up a greater rainbow: beautiful herbal greens in this 2015 @fosse_seche, bright red strawberries in the 2019 @kelley_fox_wines and incredible blues and purple fruit in the 2018 #hervesouhaut. Can’t wait to see what else emerges this year! Happy 2023! 🥂🍷🎉 A special @winecoyeah tasting with the one and only @dirtysouthwine here in D.C.!!! Thank you, Hardy for traveling all this way, sharing your delicious wines, and letting us experience all your amazing energy in person! ❤️✨🍷(Also fun to see folks from all those pandemic zooms in 3-D!) For those curious about the wines, it was all amazing but there’s something so special about that 2021 Evangelho! It made me weak in the knees! 🥂 Continuing my dive back into California Pinot Noir with a 2014 @enfieldwineco Antle Vineyard (Chalone) Pinot Noir. Elegance at its finest! 🍷 Impromptu Saturday afternoon wine with friends should happen more often! Thank you @jamiessocks and @ratherbeina2 for sharing this absolutely stunning bottle of 2010 McDougall Ranch Pinot from @jamiekutch! Impossible to believe we drank the same vintage seven years ago! It was a show stopper then, and even more so now! Just beautiful! 🍷While not easy to follow, a second bottle was needed after we devoured the Kutch, and this Collecapretta Il Rossodatavola was quite worthy of the task!🍷(Now if only I could find more of these bottles in DC! This producer was one of my favorite finds in Boston!) A fun mini-celebration of women winemakers/ women-owned wineries as part of a DC Go Red for Women event for the American Heart Association. Great to finally taste @gotherewines, the latest vintage of @earlymountain and try @lakewoodvineyards and @oceanowines. I was also the proud winner of the woman-winemaker lot as part of the silent auction. Wine and a worthy cause brought a lot of warmth to this chilly night. 🥂♥️🍷 There’s only one wine to pair with a night of watching election results come in: @winecoyeah’s 2021 Local Election! Cheers! 🍷🗳🍷 Highly recommend pairing pink bubbles from @laherteaurelien with beach escapes! 🏖🥂 Scroll for cloudy beach days at Assateague Island, and sunshine-filled fun along the Delaware shore. Mid-week unexpected bubbles arrived during a respite from the three-day @winewriterssymposium I had the pleasure of attending. This was my third symposium (one in person and two in the virtual world). Oodles of inspiration, and opportunities to hear from the best in the industry (Scroll to see). From interview techniques, to data, to ethics, to lifetime journeys, the sessions were engaging, practical and provided tools to manifest a dream career. This came at a time I needed it most and while I miss the ability to connect in Napa, I am beyond grateful for the virtual opportunity that expands the discussion and provides greater access to this diverse community! 🥂 Only thing better than this delicious lineup were the friends who shared the bottles. Felt like 2017 all over again! Scroll for some bottle closeups. Ever grateful! 🍷🥂🍾
